Rise Up School of Dance
Dress Code
Why have a dress code?
- To create a feeling of unity and equality. When we all follow the dress code, no one is left out or stands out because of their attire. We see ourselves as belonging together and can focus on the person rather than the clothing.
- To enhance training. When students wear proper dance attire, they feel like dancers! Just as wearing pajamas tells our brains it’s time to relax, dance attire signals that it’s time to dance. It also helps teachers assess placement and alignment, supporting safe and effective training.
- To grow through insecurities, not avoid them. Wearing form-fitting attire can feel vulnerable—we get it! Our dress code is a tool to help students face insecurities, build confidence, and develop greater appreciation for their bodies.
